Sustainability

At Orlandi, a focus on sustainability is the way we manage and operate our business to best serve our customers, while caring for the environment. Our mission is to align business performance with a commitment to environmental care, which is expressed though advancements in our facilities, operations, and product solutions.

Our Manufacturing Facilities Orlandi’s two main facilities in the United States housing office, laboratory, development and manufacturing operations are located on Long Island, NY. Long Island power authorities utilize Natural Gas in place of Fossil Fuel/Coal to generate electricity, making Long Island one of the country’s most environmentally friendly locations for manufacturing. Orlandi Laboratories in Chattanooga, TN is a state-of-the-art LEED certified manufacturing facility. We proudly participate with local municipalities in energy conservation programs with initiatives such as shutting down office lights during designated break times, raising building A/C temperatures during peak usage hours, developing and building energy efficient machinery and most recently installing state of the art LED light systems throughout all of our properties.

Our Operations Orlandi’s “Green Committee” focuses on “environmental responsibility” in the workplace. We educate, encourage and enable all employees to take pride in preserving our planet and natural resources. Orlandi is committed to track our Green House Gas Emissions and issues an environmental assessment document annually to its employees. We participate with Ecovadis and Manufacture 2030 to track our status and performance in various aspects of corporate social responsibility, including environmental topics. We seek to follow guidelines of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation for a circular economy. We attained a silver rating in the USA and a gold rating for our affiliate Orlandi Sarl in Paris France, putting us in the 85th and 95th percentile respectively. We share our Ecovadis rating with certain customers upon request. Orlandi recycles pertinent manufacturing paper and corrugated waste that would otherwise end up in the general trash. We also recycle, sell or responsibly discard, expired or abandoned fragrance oil materials.

Orlandi’s Sustainable Solutions V-Shapes: Being a structurally rigid product allows it to travel through recycling equipment more easily than flexible film sachets. This mono-layer material meets all of the criteria for a fully recyclable product, subject to local recycling capabilities.

Packettes: Compostable Packettes have been developed for the Cosmetic and Personal Care industries. Our Compostable Packettes are designed to hold dry cosmetic bulk/powders and have been certified as compostable.

Touch ups: Orlandi’s revolutionary Touch-Up’s solid bulk applicator replaces the use of hard plastic, single use, deluxe-mini cosmetic samples. Our Touch-Ups is constructed with water-soluble cellulose vitamin capsule shells that assemble to hold and apply hot-pour bulk cosmetic products such as solid colognes, lipsticks and color treatments.

Wood Beads: Orlandi Wood Beads can replace traditional vermiculite Sachet fills and were repurposed to carry/disperse fragrance in a wide array of Scented Products including diffusers, fragrance samples, potpourri’s and scented jewelry. They are a by-product of waste material, biodegradable, compostable, organic, recyclable, reusable & sustainable.

Flow Wrap Packaging: Orlandi’s Scented Sachet Product utilizing a non-PVDC over-wrap film as the primary packaging and for product freshness. In addition, we have successfully replaced traditional over-wrap film with the non-PVDC film across several of our large, international retail programs and with the intention of using the non-PCDC variant across most future productions. We are currently in the final stages of offering bio-degradable packaging materials for our contract packaging customers.

Paper: Most of the papers we use in our products are from FSC or PEFC certified sources.

NOAR™ MultScent20™ The NOAR™ MultScent20™ device casing is made of recyclable plastic, while the device is reusable and updatable. The scent cartridges are recyclable.
